Røtter & Refleksjoner

2025

"In January I was asked by the curator at Frida Hansen’s House if I wanted to do a (spontaneous) exhibition at their gallery.  Hence Frida Hansen being my favorite artist, it was difficult to decline this honorable invitation — even though my calendar was already fully packed with plans and projects.

I accepted the invitation, and asked my mother (Hege) and my sibling (Oline), to join me for a TRIO exhibition. Both as a little family-gathering project, but also to relieve my pressure to produce lods of art in a short period of time (hehe!)

Mom is definitely the main source of me and my sibling’s creativity and artistry, so doing an exhibition project together feels great and fulfilling.

The theme for our exhibition is "garden",  Mostly because we all have worked with botanical concepts in the past, but we have also many fond memories to being in a garden.  The theme is also linked to Frida Hansen’s interest in plants and her big wonderful gardens, and of course her beautiful tapestries.

The title "Roots & Reflections" is based on our biological roots, our common creative ability and of course PLANT ROOTS — which we reflect, in out art and towards each other.  (The title was unfortunately very similar to the last exhibition about Hansen at the Stavanger Art Museum, but maybe we can look at it as a common thread… hehe!)"
